Grey Mask. Pipe-smoking Dr Malcolm Muir is a Spirit-like detective who lives on a houseboat and fights crime, assisted by his black, peg-legged sidekick Dove. His cases verge on the fantastic, including a haunted wax museum and a band of human-sacrificing devil worshipers. He appears in stories with titles like “The Spectre on the Ceiling,” “The Return of the Hunted,” and “The Murder and the Miner.”
