Hurston, Dick. Dick Hurston is “the sleight of hand sleuth.” He is an undercover cop, clever and quick, who proves himself to criminals through undercover ruses (pretend shootouts with the police) and through his skill as a pickpocket, which is considerable. Once the criminals trust him, he reveals himself and arrests them, with the help of uniformed officers.
