Bulletman. Jim Barr, a chemist for the police, creates a drug which gives him super-strength and increases his intelligence, which allows him to create a helmet which allows him to defy gravity. He uses his new powers and invention to fight crime. He is partnered with his girlfriend Susan Kent, a.k.a. Bulletgirl, who has the same powers as he. In later issues Barr he devises a Gravity Collar that allows his dog Slug to become the flying crime-fighting Bulletdog. Bulletman is a member of the Crime Crusaders Club. He has super-strength, he has heightened intelligence, he has telescopic vision, and his helmet allows him to fly and deflect bullets, although his powers faded over time. His enemies range from ordinary criminals to supercriminals like Blackmask, the hooded criminal Lucifer and his Blue Devils, the femme fatale cop-killer Mara Myle, the rat-man Black Rat, and the Unholy Three. He appears in stories with titles like “The Headless Horror,” “The Riddle of Dr. Riddle,” and “The Gorgon’s Head.”
